How your Aeroflot baggage allowance is calculated depends on where you are flying to and from. Flights to and from the United States of America (and, oddly, Angola) are treated different to flights to and from Europe (including the UK), Canada and the rest of the world.
In the US, allowance is measured both by weight and number of cases, whereas elsewhere the allowance is measured only by weight. The amount of baggage allowed also depends on whether you are flying Aeroflot first class (President Class) or flying Economy class, and on the age of the passenger.
The rules are the same regardless of whether you are on flights to Russia, or flights from Russia.
Checked Baggage
If you are flying to or from the USA (or Angola), your baggage allowance when flying with Aeroflot is as follows:
First Class
- Adults and Children over the age of two – 3 pieces of 32kg (70lbs) each
- Children under the age of two – 1 piece of 10kg (22lbs)
Economy Class
- Adults and Children over the age of two – 2 pieces of 32kg (50lbs) each
- Children under the age of two – 1 piece of 10kg (22lbs)
If you are a Gold level member of the Aeroflot bonus scheme, you are allowed two additional pieces of luggage and, if you are a Silver level member, you are allowed one additional piece of luggage.
Note that the weights for Aeroflot USA listed above are per item, and cannot be averaged between a number of items.
If you are flying to or from the UK, Europe, Canada, or anywhere else, your Aeroflot luggage allowance is as follows:
First Class / Business Class
- Adults and Children aged over two – 30 kg (66lbs) in total
- Children aged under two without a separate seat – 10kg (22lbs) in total
Economy Class
- Adults and Children over the age of two – 20kg (44lbs) in total
- Children under the age of two – 1 piece of 10kg (22lbs) in total
If you are a Gold level member of the Aeroflot bonus scheme, you are allowed 20kg (44lbs) of extra luggage allowance and, if you are a Silver level member, you are allowed 10kg (22lbs) of additional luggage.
Carry On Baggage
At Aeroflot, carry on luggage rules and regulations are the same, regardless of which country you are flying to/from, and is measured by both weight and size. The weight varies depending on which class you are flying, but the dimensions always remain the same.
If you are flying Business, Premiere or President or Kommersant class, you are allowed one pice of luggage, up to 15kg. If you are flying Economy class, your one piece of luggage can weigh a maximum of 10kg.
Your carry on luggage’s dimensions can be a maximum of 115cm – 55cm by 40cm by 20cm.
Additionally, you are allowed to carry on items such as handbags, notebook computers, reading material, and a maximum of one duty free shopping bag. Please make sure that your carry on luggage does not contain prohibited items such as liquids over 100ml in volume.
